DM Hall, the Scottish independent chartered surveyor, has appointed Stewart Ritchie as its compliance support and development manager.

Now based in the firm’s Dunfermline office, Stewart spent 30 years, latterly in senior positions, with the Halifax, followed by business development roles in the insurance broking and taxation services sectors. In his new role, he will undertake health and safety and audit checks within DM Hall’s 25 offices throughout Scotland.

He said: “I am also looking forward to assisting with the development role and taking the quality name and service of DM Hall out to the marketplace using my previous experience.”

Cameron Wade has been appointed to the new role of managing director at the motor division at car dealer Peter Vardy Group. He said his role would “aid expansion and allow our chief executive Peter Vardy to dedicate more time to strategic growth both in the motor trade sector and also into new business opportunities”.

During a successful two years as commercial director at Peter Vardy, Wade’s primary role has been to support the development of the Vauxhall division and key head office functions to deliver record profit growth during this period. A chartered accountant, he trained with big four firm Ernst & Young before joining the motor trade. He worked initially at Reg Vardy, running the Mercedes businesses, before moving to Parks Motor Group and its BMW/Mini businesses.

Real estate law firm Irwin Mitchell has appointed Carl Dyer as head of its UK national planning team. Carl was previously head of planning at Thomas Eggar, the London-based law firm that merged with Irwin Mitchell last year to create a national real estate practice.
