On the move: Latest appointments and promotions

Graham & Sibbald has promoted building surveyor Greg Cranston to associate in its Edinburgh office.

The firm’s managing partner, Les McAndrew, said: “Greg joined Graham & Sibbald in 2011 and has been an outstanding member of our building surveying team in our Edinburgh Office since then. His promotion is of strategic importance to the growth and future of our Edinburgh building surveying team. This department continues to grow and build its reputation for a first-class service in its own right to clients, large and small, public sector and private.”

Scottish law firm Gillespie Macandrew has made a senior appointment to its Glasgow office further building its expertise in the commercial property sector. Greg Peebles joins as a partner as the firm continues to grow its capacity and client base in the west of Scotland. He was previously a key member of DWF’s retail estate finance team in Scotland.

Harper Macleod has added a new partner to its personal injury & reparation team. Elaine Russell joins the firm from Irwin Mitchell where she was supervising partner for the insurance and personal injury departments in Scotland. She said: “I am delighted to add my experience and specialist knowledge to what is already a market leading team at Harper Macleod.”

Legal outfit Ledingham Chalmers has announced a new partner appointment as it continues to target growth in the rural sector. The Aberdeen-headquartered firm has announced that Hazel Moir will become partner with the rural team. Meanwhile, employment lawyer Sine Mackay has been promoted to associate. Joanna Lang (litigation, Aberdeen), Amy McMillan (litigation, Edinburgh) and Craig Falconer (commercial property, Aberdeen) are all taking on senior solicitor positions.

Specialist timber manufacturer Sturrocks Joinery has appointed Allan McGillivray as managing director. The Angus-based firm has been in the ownership of the Sturrock family for five generations since its inception in 1872 and has grown to become the leader in its market. The company specialises principally in the production of replacement timber components for historic properties. McGillivray joins the business with over 35 years’ experience in joinery manufacturing.
