On the move: Latest appointments and promotions

ProjectScotland, the charity that helps young people get on in life through volunteering, has welcomed Raymond O'Hare as chairman.

He joins the board from a successful background involved in a number of high-level roles with UK, European, and US-based companies and government initiatives. His previous roles include director of Microsoft Scotland and chairman of the Institute of Directors.

Dominic Scullion of Anderson Strathern’s dispute resolution department has become one of the youngest solicitor advocates in Scotland. The addition of the 28-year-old has taken the number of solicitor advocates at the firm to seven. Scullion already has a significant sheriff court, Sheriff Appeal Court and Court of Session practice and specialises in insurance and health and safety litigation, commercial litigation and public law. He is also experienced in conducting fatal accident inquiries for the Scottish Prison Service.

Following client demand, Edinburgh-based 20/20 Productions has announced the appointment of Ali Hassan in a newly created app development role. Focusing his studies on mobile applications, Hassan, 23, from Edinburgh, has just completed his university degree in software engineering at Edinburgh Napier University. This role of app developer at the creative event and digital production company will grow with demand from businesses and will see him work primarily on mobile app development, while also working alongside the digital team in other areas.

Colette Cohen has been appointed as the chief executive of the new Oil & Gas Technology Centre in Aberdeen. Cohen, who has spent 25 years in the oil and gas industry and was latterly senior vice president for the UK and Netherlands region with Centrica’s upstream business, will formally take up the new post in September.

Legal firm Brodies has expanded its construction team with a string of appointments. It has appointed partner David Arnott, a construction disputes specialist; consultant Jane McMonagle, a contracts specialist; and associate Chris Duff, also a construction disputes resolution lawyer. Stephen Goldie, head of litigation at Brodies, said: “These great appointments underline our sustained investment in providing the construction, contracting and real estate sectors with a team that can deliver results for clients.”
