Glasgow family signage firm adding 11 skilled jobs with expansion drive
“Having the building next door come onto the market was a rare opportunity to continue our growth without uprooting the business and team” – Paul Fennon, MD
A Glasgow family business behind signage and branding for major events including COP26 and the Commonwealth Games is investing £1.5 million in an expansion move that will create almost a dozen jobs.
EVM, which manufactures and installs signage, branded graphics and interior fitout componentry, expects its turnover to more than double from £3m in 2023 to in excess of £6m next year following a period of rapid growth.
Based within the Thornliebank Industrial Estate, the business has acquired the premises next door to its existing headquarters, increasing its overall capacity by 40 per cent, providing a total of 30,000 square feet of space for production, logistics, stock storage, and its growing workforce.

The firm’s latest investment will see its workforce grow from 36 to 47, with the business recruiting joiners and carpenters, digital printing and finishing professionals, and installation technicians.
The move is being supported by a £300,000 commercial mortgage from Bank of Scotland.
Paul Fennon, managing director of EVM, said: “We started out as a signage business in Glasgow more than 30 years ago and our range of in-house capabilities has enabled us to scale our business significantly in recent years.
“Having reached the limits of our existing space we started to consider moving to larger premises and having the building next door come onto the market was a rare opportunity to continue our growth without uprooting the business and team we’ve built here.”
David Drylie, relationship manager at Bank of Scotland, said: “EVM has built an impressive family business over more than three decades, continuing to invest in its people and capabilities as it has grown.
“This latest investment gives Paul and the team the space to build on that momentum, create new skilled jobs and continue growing from their Glasgow base. We’re pleased to support them with the next stage of that journey.”
The firm, which has worked with the bank for more than 15 years, said the funding had enabled the business to move quickly to secure the neighbouring property.
