Five-star Edinburgh hotel in line for top GQ award

It is the only Scottish hotel to be shortlisted for ‘Best Hotel’ in the prestigious GQ Food and Drink Awards, 2016.

With thousands of entrants to the GQ Food and Drink Awards 2016, The Chester Residence is one of six UK hotels to be shortlisted in the ‘Best Hotel’ category.

This nomination follows on from The Chester Residence’s success at the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards 2016 where the team scooped three awards including second luxury hotel in the UK.

The Chester Residence has won a total of 21 awards since opening in 2006. 

The Chester Residence, located in Edinburgh’s West End, comprises 23 luxurious townhouse apartments.

Each apartment is individually designed with chic, contemporary decor and features the latest technology, security and amenities.

They also provide the benefits of serviced apartments, combined with the glamour of a five-star hotel.

The hotel recently finished second in the luxury category at TripAdvisor’s annual Travellers’ Choice Awards.

Not only has it wooed visitors from across the UK, but it has also been named 11th in the European list.

The five-star serviced apartments – starting at £150 for one night – have won multiple accolades in recent times, including a Scottish Hotel of the Year award.

The hotel scored a rating of 96.4 in Trivago.co.uk’s inaugural Top Hotel Awards, which uses aggregated online user ratings to find the highest-rated hotels both regionally and nationally.

Results took into consideration over 190 million user ratings gathered from over 30 websites worldwide.

Moyness Hotel in Inverness scooped the top spot for the Highlands and Islands, with a rating of 94.68. Following closely behind was the Avalon Guest House, also in Inverness, and Arden Guest House in Kingussie, earning ratings of 94.55 and 94.53 respectively.
