Edinburgh’s Chester Residence named Scotland’s best hotel
The hotel scored a rating of 96.4 in Trivago.co.uk’s inaugural Top Hotel Awards, which uses aggregated online user ratings to find the highest-rated hotels both regionally and nationally.
Results took into consideration over 190 million user ratings gathered from over 30 websites worldwide.

Hide AdMoyness Hotel in Inverness scooped the top spot for the Highlands and Islands, with a rating of 94.68. Following closely behind was the Avalon Guest House, also in Inverness, and Arden Guest House in Kingussie, earning ratings of 94.55 and 94.53 respectively.
Coming in first place for the west coast of Scotland, and 17th nationally, was Knap Guest House in Tarbert, which was rated 94.39 with an average room cost of £89.

Other west coast hot spots were Miller House in Ayr and Glenisle Hotel and Bistro on the scenic Isle of Arran.
Huntingdon House Hotel in Dumfries was the top rated for the Borders, scoring 93.69, followed by Caddon View in Innerleithen and The Home Arms in Eyemouth.
