Taylor Swift Support Murrayfield Stadium: When Paramore will take to the stage in Edinburgh and likely setlist

It’s nearly the moment that tens of thousands of Scottish Taylor Swift fans have been waiting for - with the pop megastar’s Eras Tour rolling into Edinburgh this weekend.

She’ll be playing Murrayfield Stadium on three consecutive nights from Friday, June 7, to Sunday, June 9 - and is expected onstage each night at around 7.20pm.

But it’s a good idea to get there far earlier to get your money’s worth, with doors opening at 4pm (or 3pm for those with VIP tickets).

Getting there with plenty of time to spare will give you the chance to stock up on the all-important tour merch and enjoy Taylor’s hand-picked support act.

Who are Paramore?

American rock band Paramore - fronted by singer Hayley Williams - were formed in Tennessee in 2004 and released their debut album, All We Know Is Falling, the next year to moderate chart success.

They didn’t make a proper breakthrough until their sophomore album Riot! in 2007, which included the hit singles Misery Business, Crushcrushcrush and That's What You Get. It went platinum and led to a nomination for Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards.

In 2009 their third album Brand New Eyes reached number two on the Billboard charts, went platinum in the UK and produced the top 40 single The Only Exception.

Founder members Zac and Josh Farro left in 2010, but that didn’t stop their self-titled fourth album going to number one in the USA, leading to the band’s first Grammy Award - for Best Rock Song. Zac Farro rejoined the band in 2017 and their fifth and sixth albums, After Laughter and This Is Why have been received with critical acclaim.

What’s the connection between Paramore and Taylor Swift?

Swift has been close friends with Paramore lead singer Hayley Williams since 2008 when they were both nominated for the Best New Artist Grammy Award. Reportedly Swift's mother Andrea Swift started chatting to Williams at a post-awards party and asked if she would like to meet her daughter - given their similar ages and backgrounds.

Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams features on the Taylor Swift song Castles Crumbling. It was originally written for her third studio album Speak Now but was left out of the final track-listing. It later emerged as one of the Vault Tracks on Speak Now (Taylor’s Version).
