Occupying 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street in Los Angeles, the Hollywood Walk of Fame is a constantly evolving celebration of the people (and occasionally animals) who make Tinsel Town sparkle.
Nearly 3,000 famous faces have recieved the traditional honour of a star permanently embedded into the pavement since the 1960s, the latest of whom is Scottish actor Ewan McGregor.
Since being catapulted to fame in the Danny Boyle films Shallow Grave and Trainspotting, McGregor has appeared in a string of box office hits including Moulin Rouge!, Black Hawk Down, Big Fish, Doctor Sleep and the Star Wars prequels, in which he took on the iconic role of Obi-Wan Kenobi.
He received his star on Thursday, September 12, from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce - who administer the attraction that draws over 10 million visitors a year.
Among those joining him at the ceremony were his family, Star Wars co-star Hayden Christensen, director Mike Mills and producer Jerry Bruckheimer.
Here are 10 pictures of the celebrations.
