The shortlists for the biggest awards ceremony in television have been announced - and there’s plenty of Scottish interest.

Multitalented Scottish comedian, actor and writer Richard Gadd’s hit Netflix show Baby Reindeer has been nominated for 11 Emmy Awards.

The series was a huge word of mouth success earlier this year, and was based on two shows that Gadd premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

He’s up for ‘best limited or anthology series’, as well as acting and writing nods, while cast members Jessica Gunning, Nava Mau and Tom Goodman-Hill have also been nominated.

Meanwhile, Scottish actor Jack Lowden has been shortlisted for ‘best supporting actor in a drama series’, courtesy of his role in spy series Slow Horses.

Those who fancy seeing him the flesh are in luck as he’s starring in new play The Fifth Step, which is coming to the Edinburgh International Festival in August before touring.

And there’s more homegrown success in the ‘outstanding reality competition program’ category, with The Traitors - helmed by Scottish actor Alan Cumming - in the running.
