A706: Appeal launched after woman killed in crash with BMW in Lanarkshire

An appeal has been launched after a woman was killed in crash in Lanarkshire.

The fatal road crash happened on the A706 Wilsontown, near Forth around 4.30pm.

It involved a black BMW car and a black Suzuki motorbike that crashed at the junction with Pleasance Row.

The driver of the motorbike, a 53-year-old woman was was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the crash, and released pending further enquiries.

Constable Gemma Blackadder, from Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the deceased at this time, as they come to terms with their tragic loss.

“Our investigation into this incident remain ongoing and we are asking for anyone with information to please come forward."

Anybody with any information is encouraged to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 2695 of 3 April, particularly if they have any dash cam footage.
