Today we have a wide range of different gyms to suit everyone’s needs. Ten years ago we just had the traditional gym, and of course, these gyms are great for certain groups of people. However, over the last ten years there has been an explosion of gyms which can offer people something different. This has encouraged people who wouldn’t traditionally exercise in the gym to start exercising, which has been really amazing to witness. These new types of gym offer people better value for money, the ability to train outdoors, luxurious settings, and a wider range of fitness equipment. Here’s a pick of some of the best gyms in Scotland.

Outdoor gyms are so hip these days, and Silverknowes has one such outdoor gym, with the added benefit of stunning views across the beach. This has to be the healthiest gym as you are not having to battle with air conditioning, just fresh Scottish air. And, of course, it is free to train outdoors. CrossFit Scotland is a gym which offers elements of cardio, weight lifting, gymnastics, and core training. CrossFit is a different approach to fitness as it is centred around attending classes and it has it’s own program of exercises. CrossFit is not exclusive to this gym, but has been a new fitness craze for the last decade. There are independent CrossFit gyms in other parts of Scotland, check out online if interested. CrossFit is not for the fainthearted; it’s for people who are looking to get seriously fit. This gym is great for people who like training in a group and are prepared to workout extremely hard.
