Autumn Dining Experiences at Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh
Inspired by famous Scottish flavours and icons, Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh’s new Bonnie Scotland Afternoon Tea menu takes you on a local culinary journey to tempt your tastebuds.
From smoked venison and salmon to whisky, prawn and crayfish mayonnaise sandwiches to cock-a-leekie tart and Arran caramelized onion cheddar, oatcake and ale chutney, this is an afternoon delight.
That’s before you even peruse the Scottish tablet cheesecake, chewy millions and Irn Bru ganache filled macaron and orange marmalade and roasted almonds Dundee cake. Drambuie crème – a honeyed liqueur created by Bonnie Prince Charlie in the 18th century – tops off an oat crumble and fresh raspberries tart, while the sweetest Scottish strawberries grace an Orcadian gingerbread and vanilla sundae dessert.
Then if there’s room, enjoy a selection of buttermilk and millionaires shortbread scones with bramble and gin jam, plus clotted cream.
There are vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options, as well as a special menu for children, to welcome all of the family to the beautiful, grand hotel in the centre of Edinburgh. The new afternoon tea menu is available until the end of November.
Or if you just want to snuggle by the fire at home, you can still enjoy a taste of Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh with its afternoon tea at home service, available for collection from the hotel daily from noon until 2pm, with two days’ advance notice.

Meanwhile, not to be missed is award-winning chef, Mark Greenaway’s five-course tasting menu for families to enjoy in a relaxed and welcoming setting for only £32.50 per person, available Tuesday – Thursday from October 11th until November 3rd.
As an ambassador for Scotland’s food and drink, Mark incorporates the finest locally sourced ingredients with unique concept dishes to put him in the top tier of Scottish chefs.
With ham hock waffles, fish and chips, and pan roasted chicken breast with fries, the kids’ menu offers families the opportunity to dine together at Grazing by Mark Greenaway. Though the Pan Roast Duck Breast and Mushroom and Hazelnut Ragout may tempt you to keep it a secret to enjoy by yourselves with a special dinner for two.

‘Red light’ from Amsterdam infuses Blanco Tequila with red chillies and orange peel, adding highland rooibos tea and fresh strawberry syrup for a bright and fruity cocktail. Or try the Versailles soft chamomile vodka shaken with elderflower, lemon and egg whites, and topped with champagne as a reminder from Paris, which is perfect for a celebration this season.
