Sixties icon Brian Duffy dies

BRIAN Duffy, whose photographs captured the Swinging Sixties, has died aged 76. He had been battling lung disease.

With David Bailey and Terence Donovan, Duffy made up the "Black Trinity" of photographers whose portraits of actors, models and musicians made them as famous as their subjects.

Duffy famously tried to destroy all his work in 1979. Reportedly aggravated by one of his staff members asking him where the toilet paper was kept, he dumped his negatives in a bin and set it alight.
