Sir Ranulph Fiennes hurt in car crash

SIR Ranulph Fiennes, the oldest Briton to reach the summit of Mount Everest, was left "dazed" and bloodied following the collision in Stockport yesterday.

His Jaguar hit a Nissan Micra travelling in the opposite direction on the A6, then struck a Ford Focus. Sir Ranulph, who turned 66 yesterday, was taken to hospital for treatment.

The male driver of the Nissan suffered leg injuries and five-year-old child was also injured but their condition was not believed to be serious.
