Rock star joins badger protest

ROCK star Brian May joined protesters battling "insane" plans for a mass badger cull.

The guitarist with rock group Queen has thrown his weight behind opponents mounting a legal challenge to the plan. The Badger Trust charity is fighting to get a controversial TB Eradication Order (Wales) 2009 quashed.

May, 61, said the cull programme made no more sense than if it could be proved that by killing all ginger-haired people smallpox could be eradicated.

"Anyone would think that doing that was insane but that is what we are proposing to do to badgers."
