Paul Gascoigne: ‘I may drink again’

PAUL Gascoigne has admitted that he may drink again despite his latest spell in rehab as he gave an emotional television interview.

The former Rangers midfielder appeared on Alan Carr’s Chatty Man show on ITV to tell the talk show host how he came close to death on the onset of his last relapse earlier this year.

The 45-year-old ex-England international had decided to indulge in one last binge before resolving to head into a clinic.

“I woke up with two litres of gin, six bottles of wine and about eight cans, and I thought ‘Oh no, I’m in the s*** now.’

“I just thought I’d better get out of here and get to America and detox. But that was it, I was in it and I couldn’t get myself out of it.”

Gascoigne added: “I do miss a pint, don’t get me wrong. Who knows, I might drink in the future? Never say never. But I don’t want to.”
