Kevin Bridges’ apology for damaging car while drunk

COMEDIAN Kevin Bridges has apologised for “acting aggressively” as he offered to pay compensation to the owner of a car he damaged while drunk in Ireland.

Bridges was in Killarney, County Kerry to perform his sold-out show, The Story Continues, in the town around the time of the incident.

The Clydebank-born comedian was arrested and charged with being intoxicated in a public place and inflicting criminal damage on a car in December last year.

The 26-year-old avoided a criminal conviction after yesterday’s court hearing - which lasted a matter of minutes - heard that charges levelled against the comedian would be withdrawn by police.

Bridges had paid compensation to the owner of the vehicle, Liam Spring, his solicitor said at the hearing.

After his arrest, Bridges had told police: “I can only apologise to the people of Killarney.”

He added: “I was acting aggressively and I never intended to cause damage. I would like to apologise to the man in person and cover the cost.”
