Interview: Ben Volpeliere-Pierrot, singer and frontman of Curiosity Killed the Cat

Who would attend your fantasy dinner party and what would you eat? I’d be a cartoon me and guests would include Top Cat, The Cat in the Hat, Felix, the Pink Panther and plenty of moggies. Naturally we’d catch fresh fish and have a little cream for afters.

Whom did you last text and what was the message? Some company offering me free lifetime supplies of happiness. I replied “STOP”.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given? If you want something bad enough, do what you can to get it.

What’s the worst job you ever had? Summer, 1981, I worked in a print shop, collating transfers and watching ink flow into the printer.

Who is your favourite fictional character? Dr Watson, who happens to be based on a great-grandfather of mine.

What are you afraid of? The ocean depths. It’s unpredictable – what’s down there, what can’t I see?

Did you have a nickname growing up? Stickman.

If you could choose a profession to try, what would that be? Why? Carpentry. Wood is beautiful, it smells great and is very satisfying to work with.

What’s always in your fridge? Pizza and beer.

If you could change something about yourself, what would it be? Everything or nothing. If I was to start changing something, I’d find it very difficult to stop.

If you could travel back in time, where would you go? As far as I could, to a time before corruption.

Who or what is the love of your life? An eclectic mix of people combine to be the love of my life.
