Video: Glasgow Gorbals flats demolished

Glasgow's skyline changed again today as another of the city's high rise flats came tumbling down.

The Gorbals flats in Norfolk Court were built in the 1970s and were today razed to the ground by controlled explosion

The flats have been demolished to make way for a £24m housing development which will see 200 new homes built.

An exclusion zone was set up around the 24-storey building before the blast took place at 10.30am.

The past 12 months has seen a numnber of the city’s high rise flats demolished including the Red Road flats which

were once the most densely populated tower blocks in Europe.
