With a new single out next week and an album release and a string of live dates in the pipeline, it’s shaping up to be a big summer for Peplo, write Olaf Furniss and Derick Mackinnon

Glasgow indie-rock outfit Peplo return next Friday with For His Better Three Quarters, the lead single from their long-awaited debut album We’re Not Getting Out of Here. Recorded at Chem19 Studios, the track was recorded by Jamie Savage (The Twilight Sad, King Creosote) and mastered by Paul Savage, whose credits include Belle and Sebastian, Mogwai and Arab Strap.

Led by songwriting duo Cit Lennox and Iain O'Donnell with Mark Hinds and Daniel Young completing the lineup, Peplo are a fiercely independent quartet who have steadily built a loyal following, earning support from BBC Radio 6 Music, BBC Introducing on BBC Radio Scotland, Amazing Radio and The Unsigned Guide.

They have also performed at Celtic Connections, Hidden Door and ButeFest, sharing stages with UTR favourites Katie Gregson-MacLeod, Meursault and Mt. Doubt. See them live at Nice N Sleazy in Glasgow this Wednesday supporting Irish act Wynona Bleach and Glasgow band Lemon Drink, followed by a headline launch event at The Old Hairdressers in Glasgow on 14 August, see https://linktr.ee/peplomusic
