Under the Radar: Hannah Slavin

Glasgow singer-songwriter Hannah Slavin creates catchy electro-pop. She first rose to prominence as part of nine-piece vocal group Leeds Contemporary Singers in 2017, when they won BBC One’s Pitch Battle, and since then she’s earned support from BBC 6 Music, Amazing Radio, BBC Introducing and was interviewed on BBC Radio Scotland’s flagship Afternoon Show just last week.

New single Mac & Cheese is released on Friday and is one of her most vulnerable songs yet. The lyrical content sees Slavin opening up about mental health challenges following a bad break-up and the additional impact of self-isolating.

Next Sunday and again on 14 June, she performs a Virtual Tour across her social media channels and hosts the Mac & Cheese sessions with virtual guests. On 5 June, Glasgow promoters 432 Presents feature Slavin in their all-day livestream. Visit www.facebook.com/hannahslavinmusic for full details.
