Under the Radar: Chris Ingram, Vulpes Urbana

Originally from Kirknewton in West Lothian, Chris Ingram, aka Wee Scots Poet, now lives in Wrexham in Wales. He’s a prolific collaborator, working with a revolving group of musicians, from as far afield as Vietnam (Leon Poyser) and Ireland (latest single So High features Richard Geraghty) as well as local bandmates Vulpes Urbana, Hazel Ogden, John Ramm and David Watson.

Ingram and Co. create an intriguing mix of psychedelic, poetry driven folk-hop, inspired by the likes of Beta Band and Arab Strap. Each track mixes scathing social and political commentary with 1990s references like Space Invaders and White Lightning; at times it sounds like the soundtrack for Trainspotting 3.
