Theatre review: Sheltered

Bellyfeel Theatre Company tackles homelessness in this anthology of mini-plays, the line-up of which is decided by an audience vote.
Star rating: **
Venue: Paradise in the Vault (Venue 29)
Today’s selection tackles the sense of invisibility homeless people experience on the street; the choices and sacrifices that lead them there; the danger of rape and sexual abuse and the ‘hidden homeless’, or those overlooked because they’re in often temporary, non-secure accommodation.
The performances are unflinchingly confrontational, but it’s not enough to make individual episodes stand out – only the physical theatre segment distinguishes itself from the other monologues, and even it would benefit from less cluttered choreography.
Until 20 August. Today 12:25pm.
