That’s especially true with geniuses such as Laurel and Hardy.

Though fondly written by David Leeson – who plays Stan – this flimsy tribute is just a potted biography of their lives and work.

Leeson and Colin Alexander double-up as stagehands who met the duo during their autumnal ‘50s UK tour. But Alexander, despite his pleasing tenor singing voice, is too bellicose as Ollie.

It’s moving when they pass away, of course, but only because the thought of them dying is unbearable anyway.

Until 20 August. Today 3pm.
