Theatre review: #ICYMI

An aspiring musician, a bookworm, a writer and a pretty girl walk into a bar'¦except that there isn't really a punchline to this dramedy of manners, just a bunch of self-absorbed New Yorkers checking their social media as regularly as expressing their social anxiety. And then the lights go out and their already implausible behaviour escalates.

#ICYMI is a Breakfast Club for millennials, with fancier beverages and considerably less charm.

The satire, if it is indeed satire, isn’t nearly cutting enough and after what feels like a very long hour in these characters’ self-indulgent company, you may need a stiff craft beer.
