Theatre review: Dolly Wants To Die

Dolly isn't the only one who wants to end it all long before the end of this tiresomely-extended sketch of an idea.

Star rating: *

Venue: Underbelly Cowgate (Venue 61)

Even if the idea of children’s toys taking drugs and shouting about heteronormative culture and the bombing of Syria strikes you as funny you’ll be thoroughly tired of the conceit by the end of writer-performer Helen Monks’ show. The colourful, oversized child’s bedroom set is well-conceived and executed but that really is the only positive aspect here.

Until 28 August. Today: 4:10pm.
