Theatre review: A Remarkable Person

This three-hander from Norway, written by Pernille Dahl Johnsen, feels like a muddle of ideas pulled together around the subject of identity.

Star rating: **

Venue: Pleasance Dome (Venue 23)

It trudges ponderously through a range of scenarios, some satirical, some surreal.

Although much thought has gone into the play’s abstract ideas, it’s unclear who the characters are or what they’re trying to say. The argument seems to be that the modern obsession with identity is self-indulgent, but it’s hard not to find the show guilty of the very thing it claims to despise.

Until 27 August. Today 1:05pm.
