Scots students create gown with Tunnock's wrappers

THREE students from Arran have made it to the final of the national Junk Kouture Scotland Event which takes place next Friday.

Megan Ingham, Gabrielle Allison and Katie Morrison impressed judges with their ball gown made from recycled caramel wafer and teacake wrappers.

Junk Kouture Scotland challenges secondary school pupils to create wearable art from materials that normally end up in the bin.

Designs will be showcased in a number of pop-up catwalks in Buchanan Galleries this weekend before the grand final at Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall.

Another entry called 'Flowers of Scotland' has also been inspired Scotland.

The competition will be judged by Louis Walsh, Sherri Scott of Forever Yours Betty, Jimmy Stephen Cran of Glasgow School of Art and Michael Galbraith, Junk Kouture’s honorary student judge.

Junk Kouture winner will bag themselves a number of prizes including £1,000 cash and red carpet tickets for a London Film Premier.
