Razzies parody Hollywood's love affair with awards

TOM Cruise and his pregnant fiancée Katie Holmes won the Razzie award this weekend for "most tiresome tabloid targets".

The Razzies, which parody self-congratulatory Hollywood award shows such as the Oscars by roasting the worst of Tinseltown, this year added the category to salute "the celebs we're ALL sick and tired of".

Cruise professed his love for the actress on the Oprah Winfrey Show last May, jumping up and down on a sofa. He was also nominated as worst actor, but was trumped by Rob Schneider, for Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo.

By far the worst movie of the year was Dirty Love, written by and starring former Playboy model Jenny McCarthy, which took four honours: worst picture, worst actress (McCarthy), worst screenplay and worst director (for McCarthy's former husband John Mallory Asher).

Hayden Christensen, took worst supporting actor for Star Wars, Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, and Paris Hilton won worst supporting actress for her death scene in House of Wax.
