Preview: Emma Pollock, Electric Circus

WE haven’t seen much of Emma Pollock this year. The indie-folk singer has spent much of the last while appearing in theatre instead - her most recent appearances coming in Cora Bisset’s much-anticipated production Whatever Gets You Through The Night and the subsequent film documenting its development at the Fringe.

It’s back to the day job now, though, as the former Delgado teams up with Chemikal Underground alumnus, RM Hubbert (long-time friend and prodigious guitarist), at Electric Circus on Sunday.

It’s an opportunity to hear Pollock’s new material, as she prepares to record the follow-up to her 2010 album. “Hubbert and I have been playing numerous shows together recently allowing us to play our song Half Light, which is included on his new album Thirteen Lost & Found,” says Pollock.

“We decided a little while ago that it was much too much fun to stop short, so have set about putting a UK tour together. I’ll be playing a solo acoustic set, with quite a few new songs thrown in. We’ll also have an exclusive six-track EP available at the shows, featuring new and previously unavailable recordings from both RM Hubbert and myself.”
