In pictures: Memorable fashion moments at the Grammy Awards

The Grammys are a’ comin’! Wheras the Oscar red carpet is all about class, couture and creating the most stylish look and showing the world that you are a pefect canvas, the Grammys are all about, well - me, Me, ME.

These guys have brands to protect and promote and there’s no way that they’re coming away from the night without you knowing exactly who they are. Who needs an award if the world now recognises you as a fashion fox or a red carpet rager?

• Toni Braxton - yep, we can only remember the one song as well - but who could ever forget this, err, outfit?

• And talking of flesh baring ensembles - you could pretty much see what J-Lo had for breakfast in this Versace number.

• Most smaller women tend to try and give themselves height with towering heels. Paula Abdul has gone for heels, towering hair and, err, body armour.

• When you wear buttock baring chaps and a see thru lurex hoodie just to pop to Tescos, how do you ramp it up for a special event? Why arrive in an egg, of course.

• Missy Elliot takes ‘looking sharp’ to a whole new level. Although, we suppose it means she gets more room at the buffet table...

• ‘Honest Occifer, I just had the one wee glass....’ Whitney tries to keep it together in the years before she acknowledged what the world already knew.

• Only guessing here - but do you think M.I.A. might be expecting? My, she kept that quiet.

• We could, truly, have done an entire slideshow on the myriad ill-advised looks that Xtina has sported through the years. From the dodgy dreads to the net curtains she patently stole from the hotel on her way to the ceremony. Her hairstyles alone will bring on any hairdressers palpitations and give lie to the truth that everything in life is better deep fried.

• Once inside, the ceremony itself does throw up some great moments. Remember when we were all a little queasy when we got the first good look at Madge’s Muscles?

• And how manipulated did you feel when Elton and Eminem dueted and even embraced after all the homophobic rants - think they were both frisked for weapons beforehand...

• And, yes, Hilary has indeed won a Grammy - just goes to show that they give them out to anyone...
