Our Ladies: Delay for new Edinburgh-set schoolgirl film on 'the sisters of no mercy'
West Lothian-born director Michael Caton-Jones spent 20 years trying to make Our Ladies, the adaptation of Alan Warner’s hit Scottish novel The Sopranos.
But the filmmaker, whose previous credits include Rob Roy, Scandal, This Boy’s Life and Memphis Belle and will have to wait until September at the earliest before it finally arrives in cinemas, assuming social distancing restrictions are lifted by then.

Hide AdThe Sony Pictures movie, which has already been premiered at the London and Glasgow film festivals, was shot in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Fort William in the autumn and winter of 2018 and was due for release this month.
The film, which is billed as a “raucous tale of love, life and true friendship,” has won rave reviews from critics.
The main characters whose exploits are explored in the film are all played by six largely-unknown actresses – Marli Siu, Sally Messham, Rona Morison, Tallulah Greive, Abigail Lawrie and Eve Austin.
The film also features a cameo from Baywatch star David Hasselhoff.Edinburgh locations include Rose Street, Victoria Street, the Grassmarket and Charlotte Square all get a starring role in Our Ladies. The CodeBase tech incubator on Castle Terrace doubles as a police station.

Hide AdA spokeswoman for Sony Pictures said: “The UK release of Our Ladies has moved to 11th September 2020. We appreciate your understanding and support and look forward to sharing this film with audiences in the autumn.”
It was announced last month that F9, the new Fast & Furious blockbuster, which was partly shot in Edinburgh last year and was due to be released in May, has been rescheduled till April 2021.
