Her piece Connect It was an integral part of the award-winning BBC Ten Pieces project, introducing half of all UK school children to classical music, and her compositions have featured in broadcasts, films and concerts worldwide. The artist recently released her debut album Varmints, which has been longlisted for the Scottish Album of the Year Award. Mixing electronica, contemporary classical and experimental rock and pop with intermittent bursts of tuba and cello, we witnessed Meredith and band play incredible, genre-bending performances last week at Glasgow’s Hug & Pint and at the Great Escape festival. Meredith and her band are booked to appear at various festivals this summer, and her classical music will be performed by the likes of Scottish Ensemble (in June) and Scottish Chamber Orchestra (in December). www.annameredith.com
