While the building may have been replaced, bizarrely the Black Bull pub remains as wee see the difference between 1912 and 2012.
Also visible in the modern photo is part of the stadium used for shows and events at Edinburgh Castle, while the 1912 shot shows the shadow of Auld Reeky’s Old Town looming over the Grassmarket
