Lewis Chessmen Lego replica on show at National Museum of Scotland

Artists have created a 2m-high replica of one of the iconic Lewis Chessmen using more than 90,000 Lego bricks.

Lego expert Warren Elsmore and his team crafted a version of the intricate Berserker chess piece during half term along with help from visitors to the National Museum of Scotland.

The ivory chess set was found on Uig in 1831 and are believed to have been in Norway during the 12th Century.

Part of the Festival of Architecture 2016, the programme includes the chance to see Warren and his team construct a 3.5m Lego model of the Museum’s Chambers Street building.

The Lego Lewis Chessman will be on display until 24 March.
