Hit US live comedy show UpDating comes to Scotland
UpDating, billed as the biggest live reality show in the US, is venturing across the pond for its first ever European tour at premier comedy clubs and venues. It reaches The Stand Comedy Club in the centre of the Scottish capital on Sunday 25 June as part of the critically-acclaimed tour that is wowing audiences in Stockholm, Berlin, Amsterdam and London.
The unique New York City-formed live reality show places blindfolded single people on blind dates in front of a live audience. What follows promises to be a hilarious show with audience participation, raw moments and real and relatable instant feedback on modern romance. UpDating is designed to explore the nuances of dating humour around the world through a unique brand of reality and comedy.
Presented and produced by comedians Brandon Berman and Harrison Forman, the show casts ordinary singles, chosen from hundreds of applicants, on stage at sold out venues across New York and now around the world, including Scotland. UpDating is regularly featured as the number one thing to do in Time Out New York.
Harrison Forman said: “Despite all the dating apps and technology we have today, UpDating represents the power of the live experience. It’s live entertainment on steroids with an emphasis on meeting people, friends and romantic acquaintances - all IRL!

He added that sex and openness continue to be at the forefront of Gen-Z and Millennial audiences and described UpDating as “the most sex-positive show in existence, touching on topics previously thought to be taboo”.
UpDating is co-hosted by Berman, along with live producer Forman. This is the first show from the pair who specialise in creating authentic live reality content. Berman is known for his disarming stage presence, improvised humour and Long Island roots. After working at the Howard Stern Show, he said he realised that his improvisational style could bring unscripted comedy to a stage.
Also, based in New York, Forman is known for creating non-scripted shows and formats. After starting his career in tech working at Facebook, Harrison moved to comedy through his dating comedy blog and digital content. He recently started his first literary project, a humorous book about dating and relationships from the male perspective.
