Historic openings for 30 apprentices

HISTORIC Scotland is seeking to recruit 30 new apprentices in traditional building skills over the next three years.

The first ten will be taken on early next year in addition to the three or four apprentices already recruited each year by the organisation.

The apprenticeships, in skills such as stonemasonry, joinery and painting, are based throughout Scotland and include an apprentice stonemason in Orkney.

The apprentices will experience a mixture of on-the-ground and college-based training at the agency’s facility in Elgin and at the recently announced National Conservation Centre in Stirling.
