Game of the Week: Sorcery

WHEN you think of boy wizards it’s hard not to think of Harry Potter, but Sony’s Sorcery certainly isn’t a carbon copy of JK Rowling’s creation.

In a medieval fantasy world you step into the shoes of a trainee wizard, accompanied by your talking cat, to battle trolls, banshees and fairies.

The Move peripheral (which basically means you can control games via movements, much like Nintendo’s Wii) has been overlooked after the initial flurry of titles but here it’s perfectly integrated into the game-play as you cast spells with the flick of a wrist. The controls are responsive and easy to use, even if the auto-targeting, camera and collision detection can be a bit frustrating at times. A fun diversion with an intuitive control system.
