What’s the last piece of clothing you bought?

When my husband and I were trying to buy our first house we made a pact that if he sold his motorbikes, I would stop buying clothes for a year. So it has been eight months now since I bought any clothing.

What are you addicted to buying?

I have been buying a lot of scarves (technically accessories, so I can buy these). We have been expanding our range at The Tartan Blanket Co, so I keep finding new ones I love.

Best ever bargain?

A beautiful vintage silk Karl Lagerfeld shirt. I got it for $20 in a Boston thrift store.

Who has great style?

I love to mix and match styles and prints and I don’t think anyone does this better than my very stylish mother.

Name your favourite high street shop.

When I am finally back to buying clothes, I will be treating myself to something from Zara, Cos or All Saints.

Any fashion disasters you’d care to tell us about?

The trouser skirts which were around when I was at high school were definitely a low point in fashion.

What’s your favourite item in your wardrobe?

I love a stylish coat and picked up my current favourite from Sandro in Bordeaux last year.
