The show, known as Shimmer and hosted in a forest near Pitlochry throughout October, ended on Sunday night and marked the 15th anniversary of the event.

This year’s show sold out in record time and saw all previous box office records broken, including a 13 per cent increase in attendance on last year.

Ian Sim, acting chairman of the Enchanted Forest Community Trust, praised the event and said the community will benefit from its success.

He said: “This is a tremendous success for Highland Perthshire tourism business and we are deeply encouraged by the continued support of our visitors, many of them who return to the Forest year after year.

“It is a testimony to the hard work put in by the community that our visitor numbers continue to grow year on year, and that our show continues to go from strength to strength.”
