Edinburgh Moonwalkers in the pink, despite rain

RAIN failed to dampen the spirits of thousands of people taking part in the seventh MoonWalk on the streets of Edinburgh.

Participants, many wearing decorated bras, donned imaginative outfits for this year’s theme of “Midnight at the Oasis”. There were belly dancers, Arabian princesses and even spitting cobras. The event on Saturday night raised about £600,000 for breast cancer charity Walk the Walk.

Nina Barough, founder of Walk the Walk, said: “The MoonWalk Edinburgh has been one of the most memorable – not just because of the heavy rain but because we had the most fantastic bra designs I have ever seen.”

Participants walked the Full Moon, 26.2 miles, or Half Moon, at 13.1 miles, with local landmarks bathed in pink light in their honour.
