Spoken Word: Alexis Dubus: Cars and Girls

I don’t know what plans you have for the few 3pms that are left between now and the end of the Fringe, but if you want to give yourself an hour to treasure, to mull over, to marvel at and to laugh about for a long time to come, then change them and come here and see Alexis Dubus tell you a story.

Theatre: Raymondo

It’s visibly inspired by the world of burlesque; and there are echoes, too, of the brilliant magical-realism voice of Angela Carter. Yet as Annie Siddons takes the stage to tell the story of Raymondo, she’s also weaving a completely original 21st-century tale of inspiration, exploitation, love and death.

Comedy: Bec Hill in… Ellipsis

There can be few better reasons to create a show than winning an award to impress Superman. That, at least, is the expressed conceit of Bec Hill’s typically exuberant, daft and inventive new hour, to which she’s bolted a freshly found storytelling rigour.
