Comedy review: Charlotte Gittins: Mirror Image

Edinburgh Festival Fringe: Before she starts, character comedian Charlotte Gittins warns us of two things: this isn't really a comedy show and it's very bleak. Neither turns out to be true.

Laughing Horse @ Espionage (Venue 185)

**

Apart from a confusing, joke-free children’s fiction parody, this curious compendium of satirical blackout sketches is undoubtedly comedic. The gags rarely land, but the show is full of them. The sketches are linked thematically by the apocalyptic potential of Trump and Brexit. They’re skilfully performed, but I didn’t laugh or smile once.

Until 27 August. Today 5pm.
