They need not have worried as Anything That Gives Off Light – a raucous road trip following two friends heading for the Highlands – caught my eye as soon it was announced in January.
As someone who spends much of July roaming around the Outer Hebrides in search of music, whisky and adventure, I did not need much convincing to check out the National Theatre of Scotland’s new collaboration with Brooklyn-based ensemble The Team.

Hide AdAdding to the allure was the casting of my acting namesake, whose stage career I’ve been following with keen interest since he appeared in the first run of Black Watch at the Fringe ten years ago, now appearing as one of the three main characters in Anything That Gives Off Light.
But it was only when I watched the show unfold at the weekend that I realised the other Brian Ferguson is playing yet another Brian Ferguson on stage. Any others out there? Let me know.
