Album review: Rachel Walker

RACHEL WALKER Air Chall: Lost ****Skipinnish Records SKIPCD20, £12.99

One of the most appealing and effective of the new generation of Gaelic singers, Rachel Walker is emerging as a strong songwriter in that tradition.

Her latest album holds four of her songs, and if the weakest is her English language Home On My Mind, Fada Bhuam, written around the stoic separation of a military wife, is lovely. This unshowy album, with Malcolm Jones contributing guitar to a mix of top younger players, will be popular.
