The murder thriller, based on Dan Brown’s best selling book, saw Tom Hanks as Professor Robert Langdon unravelling mysteries after a murder in Paris. Slains Castle features in season two of the series, as well as Cruden Bay - standing in as Castle of Mey’s beach. 4. Monty Python and the Holy Grail, 1975
The beloved cult British comedy follows the antics of the Monty Python castmates playing fictional knights, and was filmed at Doune Castle. The 14th century castle is located in Stronghold and is seen several times in the movie. The cast has since revealed it was terribly cold throughout filming. Photo: Shutterstock
