A message from the British No.1, who was last night knocked out of the BNP Paribas Open in California, was relayed to delegates at a Scottish Tourism Alliance conference to mark this year’s Scottish Tourism Week.

Murray said: “2014 will be a big year – not only will I defend my Wimbledon title, I have joined your industry and now champion your message, that tourism is everyone’s business –even tennis players!

“I love Scotland, and this venture gives me the chance to show off Scotland to the world.”
