Jack Abbott, Liberton: "It just isn't good enough. I'm not really sure we could do anything after they got the goals – the game was over after that."

Damian McKay, Edinburgh: "A terrible performance. Riordan needs to go up front rather than being stuck away out on the left. At the back, Thicot needs to go, he's just not good enough. Rankin isn't good enough. We're just carrying far too many passengers."

Charlie Hall, Willowbrae: "Hibs were very poor and I don't think it matters how we change the team around for Ross County on Tuesday night – they won't go any further! We were rubbish."

Frank Taylor, Granton: "The worst derby I have seen in many years from our perspective. If I was a Jambo I'd be gutted that it was only two because they could have had a barrow load on that performance from Hibs. No fight, no spirit and no interest."

Simon Taylor, Granton: "How we can have gone to riding high before Christmas to putting out the performances we've seen over the last month is beyond me. Something just isn't right and it is up to the management to try and drum into these players that they need to fight for a win, it won't just be handed to them."

Malky Moriarty, Niddrie: "I was thinking about going up to Dingwall on Tuesday night but I'm swithering after that. If the players can't show commitment and interest then it makes it hard for the fans to do that."

Dave Graham, Newington: "Only one team was interested in winning out there. We lost the midfield battle and when you've got Liam Miller in there that shouldn't be happening. He can do a lot better than that and should be applying himself a lot more. It is players like Miller, Stokes and Murray who we need to stand up and set an example. Right now it is only Murray that is doing that. We got totally run over in midfield and that was always going to be where the battle would be in this one."

Paul Shandon, Stockbridge: "Lewis Stevenson is wasted at left back, why on earth Yogi thought that would be a good idea I do not know. Wotherspoon had probably his worst game for Hibs so far but you've got to remember he is a young boy and that's par for the course when you rely on youngsters, as we saw with Scott Brown, Kevin Thomson, O'Connor etc in years gone by – consistency is something you learn.

Neil McDonald, Leith: "A shocking performance from Hibs in no way reflected by the result, which might give you an idea that this was a tight contest. We let Hearts dominate from the word go and just weren't interested in getting involved. How can that be the case when it is a derby? What was Hughes saying to the players before the game, and how has that changed since the start of the season? The whole thing is a complete mystery to me. Hughes is just lucky we're starting the second half of the season like this rather than the first, or the pressure would really be on him."

Lewis Thomson, Pilrig: "When we got over the November time with no slump I thought things might be different this year, but typical Hibs, it is back to square one again for us. I don't know where we'll end up this season but if we don't get to Europe that will be a big disappointment for me. Lets hope the players can just dig in from now on."
