Your views on Hearts' Display

Gordon Scott, Newington: "A shocking performance from Hearts. We were an absolute shambles at the back and deserved to lose. You cannot take any positives from this game."

Martin Payne, Saughton: "An awful performance from Hearts. We were second best throughout and we could have lost by even more than we did. We won't make the top six playing like that."

David Quinn, Edinburgh: "I can't believe how bad we were in this game – the first half was as poor as we have played all season. A really disappointing display."

Ryan Shaw, Longstone: "We have been improving under Jim Jefferies but this was a huge step backwards. We cannot afford to play like that next week because Hibs' strikers will be relishing facing that defence."

Alan Small, Loanhead: "Our first-half performance was a disgrace. The second half wasn't much better either. We were better in the last 20 minutes but it was too little, too late."

John Panton, Corstorphine: "The game was over in the opening 15 minutes. Larry Kingston was our top man but that isn't saying much. A shocking display."

Steven Fleming, Riccarton: "Motherwell were hungrier than we were. We were second to every ball and we were so disorganised at the back. We will need to step up a gear for the Hibs game."

Paula Lumsden, Joppa: "A terrible showing from Hearts. We had a nightmare in the first half hour and never really looked like recovering from that. Not good enough."

Craig McDonald, Morningside: "A terrible display. Motherwell's width caused us problems all day. There was no cohesion in our play. We just never got going from the start. We were dire."

Alex Shields, Penicuik: "You cannot afford to play like that and expect to get away with it. Motherwell are on a good run but we handed it to them on a plate. The defending for all of their goals was terrible."

Wee Keith, Albion Terrace: "This was a dismal display. We never even had a shot on their goal in the first half and why did JJ not start David Templeton, who scored a nice goal with ten minutes to go? It is time to take stock and put things right."

Michael Knight, Newtongrange: "Hearts got a lesson in football from Motherwell. From the very start, you could see Motherwell wanted it more. The only positive I can find was Templeton getting a goal. He was very lively when he came on. As for the defence, they were rubbish, the midfield was non-existent and Janos Balogh deserves to be sacked for his performance. Jamie MacDonald must start in goals next week or Hibs will run riot."
