John Sharpe, Westfield: "A disappointing result to end what has been a disappointing season. I thought that Celtic were there for the taking at half time but we dropped the pace after the break."

Steven Herd, Craiglockhart: "We worked hard but we found it difficult to create many clear-cut chances. I am sure that Jim Jefferies will sort us out in time for next season, though."

Paul Mackenzie, Penicuik: "I thought that it was a bit of a flat performance – typical meaningless end-of-season stuff really. I would have liked us to have had a bit more of a go at Celtic."

Colin Boyle, Gorgie: "It's never good to end the season on a defeat. Hopefully JJ gets money to spend and we can come back stronger next season. A goalscorer must be top of his shopping list."

Scott Paterson, Gorgie: "Celtic's quality and experience was the difference between the teams. They had the bulk of possession and we can't argue with the result. It was a fair reflection of the game."

Darren Hughes, Inch: "Our first half performance was good but we allowed them to dictate the game too much after the break. We need to improve our home form next season if we want to climb the table."

Kevin McAdam, Tollcross: "We had a few chances when we got it back to 1-1 but the third goal was always likely to be crucial and they got it. I hope that we'll do better next season with JJ back at the helm."

Bobby Blackstock, Edinburgh: "I had hoped that we'd get a win and end the season in style but it wasn't to be. Ryan Stevenson will be a big player next season. He was my man of the match."

Davie Jenkins, Livingston: "JJ will know that there's a lot of work to be done over the Summer if we are to close the gap on the Old Firm for next season. Hopefully we can bring some new faces in."

Alex Parry, Gilmerton: "The effort was there from the whole team but we just weren't good enough. Ryan Stevenson played well but was stupid to get himself booked for a needless foul."

Wee Keith, Albion Terrace: "That was a very entertaining game of football – apart from the final score. Hearts started positively and played that way for the whole game. Even after Celtic scored Hearts kept fighting and it paid off in when Marius Zaliukas found the net with a lovely shot. Celtic did go ahead in the second half but still Hearts kept trying but with no luck. We certainly gave as good as we got. Zaliukas, Eggert Jonsson, and David Templeton all had good games. Jamie MacDonald seemed a bit jittery, which is unlike him. Thanks to Jim Jeffries, though, for getting Hearts playing better again."
